At the ACT Container Deposit Scheme (CDS), the health and well-being of our customers, our staff and the community are our priority. That is why the ACT CDS and our network operator, Return-It, have implemented increased safety measures during these challenging times.
When visiting an ACT CDS return point, please ensure you comply with the latest Public Health Directions including checking-in with the Check In CBR app, wearing a face mask at indoor return points, maintaining social distancing of at least 1.5 metres from others, and practicing good hygiene. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home and return containers when you are feeling better.
Cash-back depots
The Belconnen, Fyshwick, Mitchell and Phillip cash-back depots are open for returns. Participants can choose to receive an instant cash refund via the on-site ATM or an electronic payment via a Return-It Express Account.
The ‘drive and drop’ service at the Fyshwick and Mitchell cash-back depots is no longer available.
Network operator Return-It have implemented additional safety measures at all cash-back depots including dedicated concierges to ensure social distancing, hand-sanitiser dispensers, QR codes for checking in, increased cleaning throughout the day with disinfection of automatic counting machines after each use.
When visiting the depot please ensure you follow the latest Public Health Directions including checking in via the QR code on-site, wearing a face mask at indoor return points, and maintaining physical distancing.
The depots are open 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, 9am to 3pm on Sundays, and 10am to 3pm on public holidays.

Drop & Go Pods
The Drop & Go Pods are open and can be accessed in line with the latest Public Health Directions.
Return-It have implemented additional safety measures at all Drop & Go Pods including automated hand-sanitiser dispensers at each pod, QR codes for checking in, increased cleaning throughout the day with disinfection of chute handles and display screens.
There may be slight delays in processing Drop & Go Pod refunds due to COVID restrictions. We are working to process these as quickly as possible and thank you for your patience in these challenging times.
Drop & Go Pods are open from 7am to 7pm daily.
